Director's Note
Arrive as Strangers, Leave As Friend!
This has been the Motto of our International College for many years, and 2017 has reminded us of how true this motto is.
At the beginning of Term 3 we welcomed 24 new students. Some will be at Middleton Grange School for the rest of their schooling and others just for a visit to experience school life in New Zealand and at Middleton Grange School. We hosted two short term programmes in July and August and welcomed a third group in October and November.
During 2017 we have welcomed visitors from across the world. We have hosted teacher training groups, media groups commissioned by various countries to film the classrooms and style of teaching in New Zealand, parents visiting New Zealand wanting to find a school for their children and many agents, local or from other countries.
I travelled to Australia, Thailand, Japan and to Vietnam, twice, to promote the school and the New Zealand education system and while in those countries met so many new friends. Richard Vanderpyl, our school Principal, visited Germany and Vietnam and was able to give presentations at schools in these countries. Tibor Toth, our Assistant Director took part in a high school fair in Prague, which was a first for Middleton Grange School.
I am always humbled by the response I receive in the countries I visit, and how welcoming and hospitable these countries are. It is a real honour to travel and promote our school to all of you.
I invite you to enjoy this newsletter, but I also invite you to come for a visit. We are known for our hospitality and we do enjoy meeting new friends.
May you and your family be blessed this festive season. I look forward to working with and seeing you all in 2018.
