Year 7-8 Structural Technology
The Year 7 and 8...
...structural technology students were challenged to build a popsicle stick bridge (Year 7) or tower bridge (Year 8) that can withstand a load of about 5kg. Most of their bridges stood the test, some even supporting 8kgs. They also made a chair/stool out of cardboard that a student (or even a teacher) can sit on. To make it more challenging for the Year 8s, they were not allowed to use any glue for their furniture. They all had fun while learning key skills and knowledge such as writing technology briefs, developing conceptual designs, and how structural integrity can be improved on certain structures.
