What is leadership? How do we develop and nurture leadership? How do we prepare our young people to be leaders of the future?

These are questions that our school and our students have always been challenged with.

We once again were very fortunate to have our first leadership training session taken by Erica Austin of E.A.Curation. The team were away for the full day meeting community leaders, developing strategies for their own leadership development, looking at their strengths and how to use them to become better leaders, just to name a few.

Following on from this training, Mrs Kerryn Malcolm, the Director of the Kahika Centre of Leadership and Development here at school, will be working with the team to build on what they've learnt and to help them develop their skills as leaders. The ultimate goal is to prepare the team to become leaders in their communities once they have left school.

We have an exciting year planned, and with the skills and enthusiasm this team display, it's going to be a good one!
