Sofia, Joel

Sofia Kennedy competed in the International School Sport Federation World Cross Country Championships in Paris in early April.  She was 29th home overall, the fourth New Zealander home and their team won the bronze medal.  "We are totally pumped" was the reaction from the parents after the race.  Awesome stuff Sofia.

Ex-pupil Joel Agnew (Deputy Head Boy 2016) is still doing very well in Athletics. He had some really good results at the New Zealand Track and Field Championships in Hamilton in March.  The result he was most excited about, and the one that qualified him for the 2018 Oceanian Regional Championships was his time of 49.45 seconds for the Senior Men 400m. He was also part of Canterbury teams that came 2nd in both the men's 4x100m and 4x400m.  Well done Joel.  Joel also does amazing work coaching the Rolleston College Athletes as part of his 24/7 Youth Work at the school.
