Nga Puna Wai Sports Hub – 16th and 20th March 2021

It was exciting for our Athletes to be back running, jumping and throwing again after missing out last year. We had a large field of 40 Athletes competing in the Canterbury pre-limenary round on Tuesday 16th March and despite quite cool weather, our team did very well, with 28 Athletes qualifying for the Finals on Saturday 20th March plus four relay teams. Highlights included;

Levi Ferguson winning the Senior Boys Long Jump and coming 2nd in the High Jump,

Our U15 Girls Relay team winning their final,

Mieke Hunt gaining 1st in her Relay, 2nd in the 100m and two 3rd places in 80m Hurdles and High Jump,

All four of our relay teams qualifying for South Islands and an overall wonderful performance by all, gaining x2 1st places, x5 2nd places and x9 3rd places.

Sixteen of our Athletes qualified individually for the South Islands Championships including our four relay teams.
