Recently Mrs Bailey attended the Spacpac Pasifika Awards, in the beautiful new Christchurch Boys' High School hall. Several pupils from Middleton received awards and prayers:

• Lei Mohi, Sioeli Ofa and Helena Tulia received commendations for their leadership roles in the school
• Sioeli Ofa, Malia Lenati and Helena Tulia received certificates for being the top NCEA Level 2 Pasifika achievers 2018

We didn't win the overall best academic achievement at Level 2 this year, those awards went to Papanui High, but it was good to see our pupils acknowledged for their work. Mrs Tulia presented them with special leis, like she did for Richard and Linda at the farewell assembly. The Boys' High Pasifika group sang beautifully and the atmosphere was positive and inclusive. It was definitely their turangawaewae!
