Yr 8 Museum Visit

MGS —

In week three ...

...all of the Year 8 pupils have been to the museum. Interestingly, we were finding out about early days for Maori in New Zealand and the tools they used to start fire, drill holes, make axes and sharpen rocks. Having two knowledgeable and interesting presenters from the Canterbury Museum helped us learn about our country’s past. Using a ponamu axe head to chop wood was a challenge as was trying to drill with a drill bit made from stone. Being able to use the tools made for a great learning experience.
