Tu Kaha

MGS —

Tu Kaha was a special night, filled with passion, mana, and whakawhanuangatanga.

Māori groups within the school displayed their love for our Māori culture through performing arts. Our Primary, Middle School, and Senior Kapa Haka groups all performed amazingly with such enthusiasm and strength, representing our school to a high standard. We were privileged to have Merrin Primary School come in to perform some incredible items, blowing everyone away with their beautiful waiata. We had a wonderful solo performance of ‘Tiaho Mai Ra’ by Zoe Bartlett (Year 11) who was accompanied by Neo Caughtry on guitar. Guest performers, Twin Hāmoni, from Shirley Boys High School performed waiata, including a phenomenal cover of Whakamoemiti. We had a great turn out for Tu Kaha, packing the gym with family and friends who came down to support our young people. An overall outstanding night.
