Middleton Evening Market

MGS —

Without a doubt, the Middleton Evening Market 2018...

...was one of the best on record. The glorious weather, plus the addition of a few new stalls made this year’s Market unforgettable!

We were spoilt for choice in regards for things to do, food to eat and things to buy. The old favourite stalls were resplendent as usual: The delicious goodies at the Bake Sale, the White Elephant with its eclectic mix of nick knacks, face painting, bouncy castles, crazy bikes (this year’s offering being the contraption from our sell out Beauty and the Beast production) and of course: mouth-watering food.

There were a number of highlights this year. Our fantastic Jazz Band entertained the crowds with upbeat items. The poised auctioneer achieved the best price for the exciting items generously donated. Our talented baristas made mouth-watering coffee and the delicious muffins were in constant demand. A new attraction: the ‘Guess the Jar’ Year 9 stall had a regular stream of children ready to play and win! Lastly, the egg and spoon race and three-legged race also offered hilarity for participants and onlookers alike.

A huge thank you goes out to the parents, pupils and stuff who volunteered their time to make the Market a success, for the hours of baking, scavenging and organising to get things up and running. We wish to thank Mrs Ira Schelp and Mrs Fiona Caughley, our Market coordinating stars, who shone brilliantly in their roles.
