Year 6 visit a Science LAB

MGS —

Mr Harris organised a Science Lab experience for Room 14 and Room 15 in Week 6. Each class learnt some key aspects of lab safety and then carried out a range of experiments on the subject of pressure.

Here we see groups of students trying to get their ‘Putt-putt boats’ working - these operate by the heating of a small boiler full of water which creates pressure. When the water and steam are ejected out a pipe at the back, the boat is driven forward. The boiler then sucks in more cold water and the cycle repeats itself.

Mr Harris linked these science principles to the Biblical account of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego who were under huge pressure to bow down to an idolatrous statue. However, they did not, but trusted the Lord to look after them no matter what happened.
