On Friday 30th August...

...our two Year 12 PE classes headed to the Port Hills to do a six hour Rogaine exercise as part of a Level 2 Achievement Standard. The classes had been to Halswell Quarry and Victoria Park for one hour practices, but the full day event was much more challenging. The teams of four pupils ran and walked from Victoria Park and further afield in search of the markers. Using their navigation skills and team work, they were able to apply the Risk Assessment Management Systems and Safe Operating Procedures that they had planned in class.

The pupils enjoyed the experience on a stunning Christchurch day. Thank you to Mrs Hodge and Mr Liebert for their organisation, and to our two Student Teachers; Miss Neumann and Mr Spicer.
