... have been learning about where our water comes from in Canterbury and how the underground aquifers purify our water. With the help of the engineering students at Canterbury University "Engineers without Borders" they also learned how developing countries struggle to have good water quality. Through a simulation exercise representing different countries around the world, they had to build a water filter to purify water. The test in the end showed that New Zealand built the best filter and had the purest water because they could afford the materials necessary, where other countries could not.
