Year 13 Camp 2025
Fresh from the summer holidays,
...the Year 13s embarked on a journey out to Woodend Christian Camp, where opportunities to connect and have fun awaited them.
This year’s camp included engaging activities such as a climbing wall and zipline for the brave and bold, a go-kart track for those in need of a thrill, and a waterslide for anyone looking to cool down from the beaming sun.
Courtesy of Mr Stanton, the Year 13s were introduced to the intense and swiftly iconic Stanton games. With a $100 prize on the line, all students eagerly competed in rounds of luck, skill, and teamwork - from rapid paper-scissors-rock to a focused game of archery tag, students were eliminated each round until only one emerged victorious!
One thing that challenged the cohort was the house competition of the second day. With all students sorted into their houses, each group worked together to create a presentation of art, devotion, and drama. Task one was to research the life of either Robert Falcon Scott, Charles Bowen, Ernest Shackleton, or Edward Wilson. This was followed by a group acting performance on a parable which included a door and a key, and finally, the newly created house chants. During camp, the cohort were able to express their faith using their God-given strengths in singing and worship, completing tasks for their houses, and overall having a good time with one another.
On the final day, students and teachers alike crammed themselves into life-sized Bumper balls where they crashed into each other with as much force as possible. Squishy Sumo Suits in a bouncy castle arena proved the perfect chance for students to jump around and let loose. Overall, this camp set up the Year 13s for a great year ahead, bringing the cohort closer together and preparing them for an amazing final year of school!
