Fiesta

Cassie Foster —

Without a doubt, the Middleton Grange Fiesta 2017 was one of the best on record. The glorious weather, plus the addition of a few new stalls made this year’s Fiesta unforgettable! We were spoilt for choice ....

...regarding things to do, food to eat and things to buy.

The traditional favourites were resplendent as usual: Dunk the Teacher, (with a rather long line waiting to dunk the principal), the White Elephant with its eclectic mix of nick-knacks, face painting, blow-up obstacle courses and mouth-watering food.

There were a number of highlights this year. Our fantastic Jazz Band entertained the crowds with upbeat items. The poised auctioneer achieved the best price for the exciting items generously donated. Also, our new category: ‘The Block MGS’. This silent auction showed just how creative our community is. The amazing pirate ship and car had the children scrambling to have a turn. Lastly, the beautiful weather meant that a number of people could enjoy their delicious food at the picnic tables.

A huge thank you goes out to the parents, pupils and staff who volunteered their time to make Fiesta a success and for the hours of baking, scavenging and organising to get things up and running. We wish to thank Mrs Robyn Bosma, our Fiesta coordinating star, who has once again shone brilliantly in her role.
