In early October...

...Lucas Tan had the privilege and honour of being asked to sing at the 50th celebration of the China/New Zealand relations.

Lucas had been involved in a singing competition and was asked by the organizer if he would sing at the celebrations. Lucas was thrilled to be able to accept this request.

Lucas sang “Just the Way You Are” by Bruno Mars as a solo performance. There were two other performers who sang their own songs. At the end all three joined together to sing Pokarekare ana. The former Mayor, Lianne Dalziel attended and commented that the song Lucas had sung was her favourite.

Lucas felt it was an honour to perform, and something he had never imagined he’d be invited to do. He really enjoyed meeting the Ms Dalziel and being involved in the whole celebration.
