Room 13

MGS —

Room 13 students have been learning about the five regular solid - 3D shapes that have the same shapes on all of their faces. These include the tetrahedron, cube, octahedron, dodecahedron and lcosahedron. In these photos, students are constructing the dodecahedron, a 12-sided solid that has a pentagon on each face. This was a tricky exercise, but with patience and care everyone managed to construct one out of cardboard.

The 5th one, which is the most difficult to construct, is the Icosahedron. It has 20 ‘faces’, each one an equilateral triangle. A highlight of this lesson was the edible joining system that was used!
