It was a cold crisp morning start at Mt Peel Forest, covering a good 50km of running and riding to finish six hours later in Geraldine. 

Searching for markers on foot or mountain bike, running through Geraldine completing puzzles and other challenges, suffering blisters and muscle pain, but all the while working well as a team. This bodes well for the future considering half the team are Year 11s new to the sport!

The team of Simon Brass, Reuben Scott, Abby Cameron, Bethany Miller, Jasmine Prince, Samantha Fairhall, Patrick Henkel and Zinan Bennett needed to place in the top 4 (of 11 teams) to qualify for next year’s Hillary challenge. Our newly formed (2 weeks) team of Y11-13s did extremely well to place 2nd, especially considering that the winning team were Y12s who had competed together at this year’s Hillary Challenge!

Middleton has a proud tradition in Adventure Sport, winning the Hillary Challenge several years ago. We look forward to developing more young people in character and skill, and good results, in the future.
