Our Boys and Girls A teams travelled to Hastings in October for the NZ Secondary School Championships. Playing against the best school teams in New Zealand, both teams played outstandingly well, finishing with national rankings of 6th for boys and 7th for girls.

Grateful thanks to coaches Dan Carter and Lucia Anderson without whose expertise and commitment such high national ranks would not have been achieved. Many thanks also to the parents who accompanied the team on the trip, especially Brad Adamson and Peter Freeman who made the long drive to Hastings with the kayak trailer and Marty Anderson for taking these great photos.

Anyone who would like to play canoe polo on Wednesday afternoons in Term 1 2021 should contact Dr Given (a.given@middleton.school.nz) or Mr Anderson (p.anderson@middleton.school.nz) to find out more. All ages from Years 7 to 13 and all levels of experience and ability are provided for. Beginners are particularly welcome. Come and try it out!
