Mobile Blood Drive - 17th September 2020

MGS —

On Thursday, 17 September we held our annual Blood Drive.

We collected 58 units (1 donation = 1 unit. 1 unit can save up to 3 Lives). This was three donations over our target, a truly amazing achievement, equating to potentially 174 lives saved, which is absolutely fantastic!!!

There were 41 brand new donors (which is a lot even for a school mobile blood drive).

This is what the New Zealand Blood Service coordinator sent to us:

"I just want to say a big Thank You to the Middleton Grange Students who took time out of their day yesterday to come in and donate. The year of 2020 has been one of many challenges and it was awesome to see how your Students handled the fresh “challenge” of a first time blood donation, a true credit to both the Students and Middleton Grange School. It made our work on the day so much easier and enjoyable, so Thank You."

She also commented on our students "Middleton Grange School has an awesome vibe and I really enjoyed talking to the Students. An amazing group of young adults. I am looking forward to meeting up with some of them again in 2021 at our next time out at Middleton Grange."

So overall a great response and great outcomes.
