Year 11 Boys Programme Update

This programme, designed to assist our boys grow into good and Godly young men, is going well. This is a three year programme that started this year, so we are learning together as we go.

Last term’s focus was around Waiora, with the focus on Mental Health and Well-Being. We included the talk on bullying by Reggie Dabs, had Paul Humphries do a half day programme on Mental Health and also had an ex-pupil talk to the boys in an assembly about his personal journey with many issues. The boys really enjoyed the sports tournament we ran over four weeks. The Year 11 boys made up house teams and played Indoor Football, Basketball, Volleyball and Indoor Hockey. Bowen narrowly won the competition by beating Scott with one point.

This term our focus will be around healthy living, being organised and we may include some life skills. They will have a two hour talk on exam preparation and study skills. We are also looking at a talk about healthy living and eating. We plan to end the term with a shared meal.
