Year 9 Food Tech

recently baked and decorated 3D Gingerbread houses. The base was a chocolate dough that had to be left to brew overnight. This was only our second time working with icing; it was demanding and surprisingly fun to get all the fine detail and make it pop with extra dobs of alternatively coloured icing to represent Christmas lights eg. Robert's home. Olivia, Nina and Ella enjoyed the fun layering effects that the two tones created.

They will be baking their own designs this week with a TV showing tiny houses, one of the creative ideas being trialed. Watch this space.
