Year 11 Commerce Field Trip

...Year 11 Commerce students visited Earth Sea Sky to understand how the business has managed to remain a truly New Zealand made outdoor clothing manufacturer while most other NZ clothing manufacturers have taken their operations offshore.  Pictured is Sam Stoddart modelling the retail version of some of Earth Sea Sky’s clothing supplied to Antarctic New Zealand for use in Antarctica.  The retail version, of which Sam is modelling, is part of a heritage line that links the Ellis family-owned company back to the 1957-58 Trans-Antarctic Expedition led by Sir Edmund Hillary.  Our special thanks go to Jane Ellis and her team in Addington who kindly allowed us to tour their operations.
