Being part of a family

"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace." Numbers 6: 24 - 26

As Director of the International College at Middleton Grange, I close my end of year message to students leaving school stating that they will forever be part of the Middleton family. No matter the length of time a student has been at our school, once they've been with us they are considered our family. It is the same with any staff who spend time at Middleton.

Being part of a family is not always plain sailing. All families have challenges, ups and downs, great celebrations and great tragedies. Being part of the Middleton family is no different.

For many, the years at school can be challenging. Some may not achieve what they, their parents or their teachers wanted them to, or they could find their friendship group challenging. For some, school is an opportunity to try new things, develop skills and grow as a person. Whatever your time at school was like, the fact is that you are still loved and cherished and a part of something very special.

Being part of God's family comes with similar challenges and highlights. It's not always easy to follow God's word, but just as our earthly parents and teachers love us and want the best for us, so does our Lord and Saviour. No matter what we do or have done, we are always able to come back and know that He has our backs.

From the Steyn family (two alumni and two long serving staff members) our wish for you all is that this Christmas the Lord may bless you and keep you, and whatever you may be facing, that you remember Jesus and spend time celebrating His family that we all belong to.
