Christchurch Earthquake Memorial Service at Avonhead Cemetery – Thursday 22 February 2024

...was privileged to be asked to once again read the names of people lost their lives during the February 2011 earthquake. At the 10th anniversary of this tragic event, some of our students were able to perform this honouring task for families who had lost loved ones, and again this year, we have been able to contribute in this way.

Head Boy, Ethan Wong and Head Girl, Libby Jordan as well as LI Peiyun, Phoebe Cooper, Andrew Kim, Koei Aratani and Jay Sureerattanan read the names in native language, creating an atmosphere of respect and reverence. Our students did an outstanding job and are to be commended for the respect they showed to the families and to the people who were being commemorated.
