Hide & Tweet

Michelle Clark —

Midway through the term, Milford School Enviro Group were approached to take part in a project culminating in an exciting event at Smales Farm over the school holidays. Our task was to decorate two bird boxes for their “Hide and Tweet” trail and write an imaginary character description of their two inhabitants - Karen the Kereru & Rawiri the Kingfisher.

With much enthusiasm, the Enviro Group planned, sketched, painted and glued until we had decorated our two bird boxes for display!

The team also brainstormed and collaborated to write their creative descriptions. Karen & Rawiri should be proud to live in these boxes. We will bring them back to install at school after the project is over.

Head to Smales farm over the holidays to find them in the Hide & Tweet Trail.
