A Term of Excitement
I hope you enjoyed the school holidays, creating memories with your whānau and relishing a well-deserved break from the school routine. The chance to unwind and recharge has left our students energised and enthusiastic about the exciting term ahead.
As we head into the year's final term, many exciting events are on the horizon! Our Year 6 students are gearing up for the much-anticipated Y6 PYP Exhibition. We have Athletics Days, Travelwise initiatives, the MEC Concert, the Ukulele Festival and the Hauraki Kapa Haka Festival, to name a few, providing ample opportunities for students to showcase talents and passions.
On Friday, 27 October, we have the much-anticipated inaugural FOMS Colour Run, a fun-filled event promising laughter, fitness, and a splash of vibrant colours. Let's rally behind FOMS as we prepare for our biggest fundraiser of the year - a blend of hard work, play, and the joy of togetherness!
Our learners have enthusiastically kicked off the term with the chance to delve into knowledge, growth, and discovery. With the promise of the next nine weeks stretching ahead, we look forward to the opportunity to nurture critical and curious thinkers, igniting a passion for learning and exploration.
Term 4 always seems to whiz by, so let's remember to pause, savour the moments, and actively encourage our students to engage in all the exciting activities. We look forward to seeing you at one or all of our Term 4 events.

To our new tamariki, welcome to Milford, we look forward to getting to know you and your family!
Wanted...baths tubs and paddling pools!
To add a bit of excitement, at the end of the Colour Run, the students will slime some of our teachers! We are looking for unwanted paddling pools or clam shells and one or two plastic bath tubs to make this happen. If you can help us out, please email me - prinicpal@milford.school.nz
Property Update
You may have noticed that over the break, several property projects have been completed, including extensive drainage works and roofing upgrades. We are also scheduled for intensive work to make it access-enabled in the coming months. Minor works will be completed during this term, and works that are more invasive will be carried out during the Christmas break.
The post-flood slip remediation project will also begin once we have Resource Consent. The slip will be remediated by building a large retaining wall along the lake side of the property.
We aim for both projects to be completed before the start of the new school year. Fingers crossed!
