TerraCycle Writing Instrument Recycling Programme

Ellen von Collas —

Yay! After months of collecting used writing instruments from across the school, we have collected enough to send our box to TerraCycle where they will repurpose the plastic from all the items. Our box weighed 5.78 kg and contained hundreds of items. Milford School receives $0.01 for every unit received. The most important thing is that we are keeping these usually non-recyclable items out of the landfill.

We are a public drop-off point, so it is open to you, your neighbours, family members or friends to participate in the programme. When your ball-point pen, vivid, highlighter or any other plastic writing instrument stops working, send it to Room 19 for recycling.
