Deputy Principal's Report
Dear Parents and Whanau - We are celebrating the end of our first full week back at school for 2021 with the Year 6 led assembly this afternoon. What a year it has been already! We would love to thank our learners and families for their support over Covid 19 levels 2 and 3, and the teachers for leaping back into distance learning thinking. Our focus for distance learning will always be the wellbeing of our learners and families through these testing times, meaning that the distance learning options will hopefully suit all family situations.
It was heartening to see our learners come back to school in level 2, and thank you to parents for doing gate drop-offs and pick-ups and for using the QR scan to enter the school grounds. Hand washing and general good hygiene remains a focus for all.
The learners at Milford School continue to achieve in many areas, not just in learning. Further in this newsletter, we have a Learner Profile challenge story from Ben, amazing initiative and leadership from Rebecca and Libby, and much more happening at school. Staff are very proud of the way our learners have settled in this week and are excited to see what we can achieve in the remainder of Term 1. Mrs Cattell sends her greetings from a hui she is attending today and will be back in next week's newsletter.Have a wonderful weekend, and we look forward to another full and interesting five days at school next week.
