This week Year 3 enjoyed a visit from the author, Anne Kayes. During the visit, Anne read part of her second text, Tui Street Heroes. Read the excerpt below, followed by what Room 21 thought might happen next. I wonder which one is the closest to what really happens?

Tui Street Heroes - excerpt
Lula opened the passenger door and placed the struggling Kuri on the seat. Slamming the door shut, she called to them, "Maybe you'll learn not to steal!" She walked around to the driver's door and brushed off the front of her jacket. "Eeww, dog hair," she muttered. Turning the radio up, she swung around and sped off towards Awatiu Mountain.
Pesi's heart was pounding. 
"We can't leave Kuri with her," Gemma said. "But what can we do?" 

What happened next... By Frida
As Lula drove further and further away, Gemma, Pesi, Harry and Louie started to chase her. We ran and ran and RAN! But soon, our feet hurt and our legs were about to fall off. But then... as soon as Lula's car was about to disappear, I saw something jump out. It couldn't be, I thought to myself. It was kuri! Hooray! 

What happened next... By Abeer
After Lula took Kuri, Gemma, Pesi, Harry and Louie chased the car. After a long chase, they lost track and almost gave up until they saw the same pink car scurry into a scary cave full of cobwebs. They followed Lula inside the eerie cave until they saw a secret lever. Pesi slipped, making a loud sound. Lula looked behind so they quickly hid. Pushing the lever, what they saw looked horrifying.
