Discover Pupukemoana

Discover Pupukemoana is a fun-filled, free family event by Takapuna North Community Trust and Pupuke Birdsong Project to raise awareness of the ecology and threats to Lake Pupuke. Together, let's discover the unique ecological taonga of Pupukemoana through experience. There will be guided snorkeling and kayaking tours, Pumphouse Theatre and Killarney Park guided tours, workshops such as Raranga (weaving), and talks on relevant lake issues such as water quality and bird rescue.

Tours & activities : 10.00am - 3.00pm
Venue : The Pumphouse Theatre, 2A Manurere Aveue and Killarney Park, 38b Killarney Street, Takapuna

The free guided kayak & snorkel tours and Raranga workshop will be run by Experience Marine Reserves. Pre-registrations are essential for kayak and snorkel tours.

The Pumphouse Theatre guided tour is run by Mags Delaney-Moffatt from the Pumphouse. Participants MUST be reasonably fit (stair climbing involved),

The guided Killarney Park tour is run by Ranger, Anna Baine from Community Parks Programmes with an introduction by Geologist, Bruce Hayward.

Aotearoa Lakes will also be on hand to share their knowledge on Lake Pupuke and how we can restore and maintain its ecology.

We will also have Maori Play expert, Harko Brown running a Māra Hūpara session. Sign up on the day.
