Acting Principal's Message

Nicola Hewitt —

Kia ora e te whānau. We have been celebrating Te Wiki o te Reo Māori this week and ka rawe to all our tamariki and whānau who joined together earlier this week with the nation in a te reo Māori moment! We have many other wonderful celebrations in this edition of our newsletter as well!

As we lean into what is hopefully our last Friday at level 4, we would like to thank you all for your continued support during this lockdown. We appreciate how hard things have been and the positive ways you have rallied to support one another. Keeping your own livelihoods going, looking after each other and providing wellbeing breaks for yourself is incredibly hard to balance.

All going well, we will move to Alert Level 3 on Wednesday, 22nd September for the small number of essential workers children who NEED to be supervised at school. It is essential you email Sara Baker prior to this and register your child. Students are unable to attend if they are not registered.

Finally, there are some wonderful resources out there for you as parents during this time and Sparklers has some great tips and ideas on how to explain the use of masks and alert levels to young people.

Have a wonderful and restful weekend and please don’t hesitate to make contact if you have any questions or concerns.

Kia pai te rā.

Ngā Manaakitanga
