Travelwise

Melanie Dixon —

Last week Jonathan Koshy and Alisha So represented Milford School in Auckland Transports Travelwise Celebrations this week. They were very proud to accept a Gold Travelwise certificate on behalf of everyone at Milford School who walks, cycles, scoots or catches a bus to school. Our goal is to get as many students, and parents, out of cars and actively traveling to school or work.

Being Travelwise has lots of advantages for us all:

  • children can learn about road safety
  • have daily exercise ( which helps improve concentration, memory and supports learning)
  • provides an opportunity to have quality time talking with parents, siblings and friends.
  • prevents chaos at the school gate
  • reduces pollution
  • saves money for fuel
  • prevents stress in trying to find a park

On Wednesday 20th November we are holding a Walk your teacher to school event. This event will run from outside New World in Milford, heading up to school at 8.30am. So pop the date in your diary and join students, teachers and a couple of special guests as we walk to school. So stay safe, have fun and remember to be Travelwise!
