Tax Rebate on School Donations
As you are all hopefully aware, many of the highly valued support and activities that the school is able to offer our tamariki are only made possible by parent donations. We are fortunate to have this support, and we appreciate your generosity and commitment to the school. This funding dramatically and positively impacts our children's education.
We acknowledge that times may be challenging for many in our community, therefore we wanted to ensure that you were aware of the ability to claim a tax credit, ie a cash refund, for school donations you have paid. As we strive to maximise our funding and provide added benefits to our students, we ask you to consider paying the school donation now! By doing so, you can claim your tax rebate from 1 April 2024.
Donations are eligible for a tax credit of up to 33.33% of the total of donations paid. Importantly, you can claim donations going back four years. Therefore, if you have not claimed donations for the previous tax years, you can still do that.
When you donate through myKindo, keep an eye out for the option to "amplify your donation" where you can gift this tax rebate back to the school. Even if you don't typically claim rebates, consider selecting YES. It's a win-win situation. More funding means more resources for students.

NOTE: Kindo cannot change the details on your donation receipt, so please ensure your Account Holder name is correct BEFORE paying any donations. Donation receipts will only be issued for items that the school has nominated as ‘donation receipt required’.
