Principal's Message

Sue Cattell —

Kia ora whānau. I often say how much I love my job and I really do. Our lovely students had me very emotional this week as they presented me with their words of thanks for the job I do. The most rewarding part of being the Tumuaki (Principal) are the interactions with the students, and I love how they fill my bucket with their words and actions.

Over the holidays we had some amazing students out and about fundraising for our Year 3/4 playground, mainly by selling chocolates. One student even went to Rainbows End to sell them! Another group, Elaine, Emily L, Olivia, Emily H, and Felix, played their violins and cello in the Takapuna mall. Not only did they raise money, but they were also invited to play at a shopper’s upcoming 60th birthday party as they were so good. We love this initiative!

A reminder that students need to go home straight after school. Please do not ask your children to wait on the playground for you as there is no supervision. Like you, we want your children to be safe. SKIDS are on site every day and you can make arrangements for your child to be supervised by them if needed.

A big thank you to you all for selling so many chocolates. We have had a huge response with some students selling multiple boxes. The FOMS (Friends of Milford School) will let you know how much was raised in the coming weeks.

Please do keep checking the calendar on our school website for upcoming dates to note.

Have a great weekend everyone.

E waka eke noa (we are all in this together)

Ngā mihi

Sue
