Hello Readers - After School Classes

Reading Class:

  1. All books are read and listened to through paper books and mp3 individually through headsets.

  2. After reading, students discuss the content of the book.

  3. Based on the discussion, they proceed with writing activities. The writing tasks include summarizing, writing a letter to the protagonist, analyzing characters, writing a diary entry as if they were the protagonist, imagining what happens next, and other creative topics.

  4. Students expand their vocabulary by creating sentences using 12 provided words.

Debating Class:

  1. Each week, a different topic is discussed. After reading a one-page text about the topic,

  2. students share their thoughts with the teacher from various perspectives.

  3. After learning key vocabulary,

  4. they practice writing essays following the structure of introduction, body, and conclusion.

  5. They are trained to include topic sentences, supporting sentences, and examples in their writing.

Class Details:

  1. All classes are conducted in English.

  2. The library contains over 2,000 books, ranging from chapter books to classic novels and selections from college-level books.

  3. All books come with audio (mp3), and students listen to books that match their individual reading level through headsets.

  4. In the debating class, different topics are covered each week using custom-made materials. This month’s topics included the benefits of keeping a diary, whether it’s better to keep it private or make it public (e.g., Anne Frank's diary), and issues arising from the large rats found on Queensland Beach in Australia.
