Kia ora whānau. The end of term is rapidly approaching, with only two weeks left to go. It has been so good to have a whole term of uninterrupted learning, with no lockdowns. Hopefully I am not speaking too soon!! Last year’s lockdowns have certainly had an impact on our students. Aside from extra learning being required by some students, we have also noticed that overall there are more emotional responses being displayed. While we are working through these with the students, it is important that now, more than ever, you also talk with your children about their feelings and how to manage them. The photo above is from Room 21 and is of the collaborative art they have been working on as a class. Well done Room21, it is looking amazing!
The covid-19 mandate changes in the recent announcements do not directly affect our school at this time as all staff are vaccinated, including our new appointments for next term. While the red setting is in place, masks are mandatory indoors for students in Years 4-6, and for all adults. Any adult who enters the school grounds must also wear a mask. We will maintain the drop-off and pick-up procedures that are currently in place for the remainder of this term, and I will let you know as soon as possible of any changes for next term.
Our annual Book Fair comes to school at the end of next week and will be set up in Room 4 (same as last year). From Friday 8 April, it will be open to parents and students from 8.30 - 9.00am every morning (Friday 8th to Wednesday 13th) and every afternoon 3.00 - 3.30pm (Friday 8th to Tuesday 12th). On Wednesday 13th, the day of our parent/student/teacher meetings, it will be open from 12.30pm - 7.30pm. All profits from the Book Fair go directly to our school library for the purchasing of new books.
A reminder that bookings are open for the parent/teacher/student meetings being held on Wednesday 13 April. These start at 1pm, with school finishing at 12.30pm. Please ensure you have made arrangements for your child to be collected at 12.30pm. Bookings are to be made through the Skool Loop app. If you need any help with this, please contact Sam in the school office.
As of this morning, we currently have 18 students and one staff member with covid-19 isolating at home. If your child does test positive at any stage, please let the school know by filling in this form and/or letting the office know.
Keep well everyone.
