Our second School Board of Trustees meeting of the term was held on Monday 19 June. As well as the usual reports, we had a specific discussion on progress in relation to Goal 1 AKO - Learning and Achieving from the School's Annual Action Plan. We also had an excellent presentation by Nirelle Armstrong on the Better Start Literacy Approach.

At the meeting we also received the resignation of Michelle Liao, one of our parent representatives. This creates a second casual vacancy which the Board has decided to fill by selection (see separate notice in this newsletter). The board would like to thank both Michelle Liao and Carlee Paterson, both of whom have now stepped down from the Board, for their services to the Board and the School - a particular thanks to Carlee who was the Presiding Member and has ensured a smooth handover of those responsibilities.

Next week the Board will meet with a number of parents who have put their names forward for selection to the Board. Sincere thanks to all of these people interested and willing to serve on the Board. We will let you know the outcome of this process to fill the first casual vacancy as soon as we can.

Our next meeting of the full Board is scheduled for Wednesday 2 August at 6:30pm in the school staff room.
