NETBALL NOTICE

Linda Vane —

Many thanks to all those people who have offered to coach and/or manage a netball team. We can only field teams if we have the personnel to assist them through the season. We need a Year 6 team coach. These girls really enjoy their netball and play straight netball- no changing positions. If anyone knows of a High School student , uncle, aunty brother, sister etc willing to help this team out please let me know immediately. It would be such a shame for them not be able to play.

I have received this communication today for NNH. I will keep you all informed as to how the season will progress. In the meantime I will be allocating teams and practises and registering the school for the coming seasons games.

From NNH:
In accordance with Netball New Zealand's attached announcement, all netball events at Netball North Harbour will be postponed until Saturday 2nd May, effective immediately.
The AGM on Monday evening at 7.30pm is still being held.

At this stage, we are still planning on running a Primary netball competition. Our competitions were due to start after May 2, however, we may be pushing back a little on the time frame but there shouldn’t be too much disruption to the Primary competition. We are working this out now as I write so we will have more information about the competition structure soon.

What has been cancelled/postponed includes:

  • Junior Pre Season Tournament – 5th April – now cancelled
  • Informal Coaching Session – 1st April - postponed
  • Primary Information Evenings on 6th /8th April – now postponed
  • April School Holiday Programme – cancelled
  • Umpiring classes up until 2nd May – cancelled
  • MEFF Coaches Evening 4th May – postponed
  • Start dates for Primary competitions and MEFF programme – we will advise as soon as we have new dates

The postponed events we will try and get some new dates or if we can’t fit something in we will let you know.

Any teams registered for a pre season tournament that has been cancelled will be refunded accordingly.

So at this stage, whilst schools are still open, teams can continue to be formed and practises started. As more information comes to hand, and once we get our heads around all of this, then we will advise further.

Please do not contact NNH individually . I will keep you up to date.
