Sculpture on Shore ONLINE!

Ellen von Collas —

In previous years, Milford School have been very proud to participate in the Children's Exhibition at Fort Takapuna, as part of New Zealand's largest outdoor sculpture exhibition, Sculpture On Shore. We were even winners of the inaugural Angela Morton prize for Primary and Intermediate schools in 2018. Sadly, Sculpture on Shore was postponed due to lockdowns in 2020 and this year it has been brought online, so there is no children's exhibition.

You do still have a chance to enjoy the main exhibition featuring some of New Zealand's well-known sculptors from around the country. You can view the exhibition online here until 28th November.

Usually, money from ticket sales goes straight to Women's Refuge. Since you get to view the exhibition for free this year, the organisers have set up a Give A Little page with donations going towards new safe, comfortable and cosy spaces for children staying in the Women's Refuge 40 safe houses. Please click here to make a donation.

Some classes were well under way with their creations for our 'Bees' World' themed exhibition before we went into lockdown. Featured above are bee sculptures made by children in the Hive. They are awesome!
