Room 13

Malcolm Aitken —

Monday 2 May was the beginning of a new term for most of our learners. But for our just turned five-year-olds in RM 13 it was the beginning of a new era: primary school!

The children learned about “up” and “down” and “fast” and “slow” and had lots of fun playing with our multicoloured parachute.

They did brain exercises to prepare for learning. They walked forwards and backwards with their feet either side of a skipping rope, they threw a ball into the air and clapped as many times as they could, they did body crossing exercises.

Our numbers this week were 1 and 2 and we have some experts at drawing the letter M and sounding it out.

The week finished with some tired but accomplished young learners who are getting used to school after hitting the ground running.
