Principal's Message

Sue Cattell —

Kia ora whānau. The staff had a great two days of learning on Monday and Tuesday, with the teachers being at TNIS for a combined PYP workshop, and the learning assistants being here at school involved in other PLD. Learning is ongoing and never-ending, and they certainly modeled being life-long learners.

We have a few students staying after school to play basketball or to play on the playground without parental supervision. While we love that they want to use the facilities, we must ask them to go home straight after school as there is no supervision by staff after 3pm. If they change and come back to school to play, that becomes your responsibility as a parent.

Next week is NZ Conservation Week and for many classes, their learning will be about this. There are many activities you can also do at home from growing a native pot plant to picking up rubbish in your area. Check out the Department of Conservation website for ideas: https://www.doc.govt.nz/news/events/conservation-week/

Please note in your calendars that the parent/teacher/student meetings for this term are being held on Wednesday 28 September, the last week of term. Students will need to be collected at 12.30pm that day. The booking timetable for these will be open shortly.

A reminder that the Board of Trustees votes must be in the box in the school office by 4pm on Wednesday. Please do have your say in this important process.

Have a great weekend everyone.
