Animals at the SPCA are going to be a lot happier, thanks to the children in Room 19. As part of our unit of inquiry, Who We Are, the children participated in a Student Volunteer Army project to help others. They chose to help animals in need by creating toys and enrichment items for the animals at the SPCA. We had a fabulous morning of craft and creativity on the last day of term, making paper butterflies, mouse tunnels, rabbit mats, kitty mats, a doggy treat 'washing line', colourful knotty 'spiders', crackle sock toys, hay tubes and more.

Special thanks to our wonderful parent helpers and to everyone who donated items for the project.

Mrs von Collas delivered the items to the SPCA in Mangere during the holidays and the class was presented with a certificate in gratitude. Mrs v.C. also came away with something small and furry, but that's another story.
