Principal’s Message

Sue Cattell —

Kia ora koutou katoa. What a fun day it is at school today with so many children getting behind our student kaiārahi in their PJ/Onesie day in support of the charity, Give a Kid a Blanket. We have so many blankets and donations of warm clothes dropped off, it is really great to see. Thank you. The money raised through the gold coins the children are bringing in, also goes to this charity as they often have to buy items that don’t get donated, especially certain sizes of pyjamas. It is a wonderful cause and one we have been supporting for many years now.

We only have three weeks left of this term, so I thought it was important to remind everyone of a few dates. On Thursday 1 July (Week 9), your child will bring home their mid-year report. Friday 2 July (Week 9) is a teacher only day, so please make sure you have made arrangements for your child. We would not normally have had another teacher-only day so close to the last one but we have an external facilitator leading this day for us, and it needed to be when she could do it. We don’t have another one until mid Term 4.

In Week 10, on Wednesday 7 July, we are holding parent/teacher/student meetings. This is your opportunity, if you wish, to meet with your child’s teacher (preferably with your child) to discuss their progress and achievement. A letter explaining this and containing the booking information is here.

Next week would usually be a whole-school assembly but there won’t be one that day. The next one will be on Friday 9 July, the last day of term, and will be led by the Year 6 team.
