Principal’s Message

Sue Cattell —

I couldn’t resist using another photo of the children enjoying the new playground as the feature photo. The joy and fun they are having is so evident. This really is a great addition to our outdoor learning environment and we know that playgrounds provide a place for children to work off energy, have fun, and interact with others. They are a great learning environment to develop physical, social, emotional, and cognitive skills.

Thank you so much for supporting the mufti day last Friday, which sees the money raised going to Australian primary schools affected by the bushfires. As well as the lovely vibrancy of colour in the school, we raised just under $1000. Thank you.

A reminder that the parent information evening led by The Resilience Project’s founder, Hugh van Cuylenburg, is coming up on Thursday 4 March at 6.30pm (apologies for the incorrect time stated in last week’s newsletter) at the TNIS Auditorium. It is for parents from all four schools involved, and early next week more information, with an electronic attendance form, will be coming home. While it is a free event, we do need to know numbers to ensure seating for everyone. If you have any questions about what the Project covers and why we are doing this with our students, please do attend.

The Life Education Caravan arrives at school in the coming week and all classes will have sessions in the van. Jenni, the educator, is amazing, and the children learn so many important messages about keeping healthy, and the systems in the body. The children love going in the van and meeting both Jenni and Harold… and if you are not sure who Harold is, just ask your children!

The fair committee are staring to ramp up the preparations for the upcoming school fair, and I do encourage you to support this. Not only will it be a great community day, the money raised is going towards more sunshades in the school.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!
