Muscle Maketh the Mārā Koru

Ellen von Collas and Michelle Clark —

Ehoa taku toa i te toa takitahi Engari, he toa takitini (My strength is not the strength of one but the strength of many) Over the last few weeks the Enviro Group children, with help from Mrs Hammond and from Thea's dad, James, have been working hard to create the koru shaped pathway for our new native garden. It is taking shape nicely. We hope over the next few weeks to put edging along the pathway and lay some weed mat and bark.

We have received 20 native plants from our 'Paper for Trees' recycling initiative, so we also hope to start digging in some plants before the end of the term. Are you able to help? You don't need to be a parent of an Enviro Group student to help us. Just come along.

  • When: Friday 27th November and Friday 11th December
  • Time: 1pm - 2.45pm
  • Where: Mārā Koru - meet at the gate between the Hall and the library building
  • Bring: spades, rakes, suitable shoes, water bottle, muscle!

We'd love to see you there!
