Principal's Message

Sue Cattell —

Kia ora whānau. Welcome back to Term 2! It has been great to see all the students back at school and to especially welcome our new students and staff. The photo above is from our French/Art room. We are so lucky to have a French teacher who is also an art specialist, and the students really love working with her. The school has recently purchased a kiln and some students are busily making works of clay that soon will be ready to be fired. Very exciting!

As I mentioned in an earlier email, we have a teacher-only day on Friday 3 June where our teachers are coming together with the teachers from our Kahui Ako primary and intermediate schools for a day of professional learning. Please ensure you have made arrangements for your child on this day.

Speaking of learning, I was at an Auckland University graduation ceremony this week where I was awarded my Master Of Educational Leadership, with honours. It was a privilege to walk on that stage, and I hope I can pass on to our young people the joy of lifelong learning.

We are hoping that the impact of Covid-19 is minimal this term, and so far it seems to be the case. As usual, if your child does test positive at any stage, please let the school know by filling in this form and/or letting the office know.

Keep safe and well everyone!

Noho ora mai

Sue
