Last Friday Leo, Johnny, Daniel and I went to the sustainability challenge in Wenderholm regional park with some other Milford school year 6 teams. Over 90 teams, each with four students, entered from all across different schools in Auckland.

The event was 2 hours long, which included a mix of running/walking, navigation and sustainability based activities.

Teams navigated to as many checkpoints as they could, collecting points for each checkpoint visited. To earn extra points teams could complete sustainability themed activities which required some research and teamwork. Examples of activities could be to identify native bird calls, match a pest to the correct trap used or learn nature yoga.

Our team, Guardians of the Garden, did a good job and came 2nd out of all primary schools. It was a really fun experience.
