During the school holidays, Aly won a gold medal in the Judo Auckland international competition, Junior boys under 36kgs.

This comes at a perfect time with the Olympics and the beginning of the PE unit being around Olympics and Paralympics, goal setting, mental preparation, success and failures of athletes, and recovery. Aly is a great role model for his peers and well as having the pride and perseverance in his own skills and effort in his chosen sport.
