Enviro Awards Ceremony 🌏

Michelle Clark and Ellen von Collas —

Last Friday, teachers Michelle Clark, Ellen von Collas and representatives of our Enviro Group: Esther Choi, Sean Crampsie, David Geertsema, Mia Noll, Amy Sao, Beth Thomson and Gus White, attended the 2019 Enviro Award Ceremony, following our successful Green-Gold Reflection in March this year.

The event was held at Western Springs Garden Community Hall, hosted by Auckland transport. It was a fabulous opportunity for Enviro Schools from across the region to showcase what they have been doing to raise awareness around environmental issues and reduce our carbon footprint. One school even brought live bees and their school-grown honey to taste!

Visitors to our stand enjoyed the interactive Kahoot game, read our books, written by Melanie Dixon, and illustrated by children from across the school. They were inspired by the leaflet we've created to inform new families about our practices at Milford School.

After a formal welcome, we enjoyed a fabulous morning tea, with all produce sourced locally, including the sweetest and juiciest strawberries ever! The Award Ceremony followed, and our representatives had a chance to share some of our successes over the years, helping us to attain the Green-Gold Enviro Award. Our certificate is now proudly displayed in the office. Look out for our Enviro Schools flag on our flagpole.
