Milford School Kaiārahi & friends are excited to continue to support 'Give a Kid a Blanket' this winter!

Nicola Hewitt —

‘Give a Kid a Blanket’ is a community action of kindness where donations of warm bedding and pajamas are gifted to families and kids in need from across the wider Auckland area and beyond. Collection Week will be: Monday - Friday, 14 - 18 June 2021

Give a Kid a Blanket was started in winter 2015 by Auckland artists Bernie Harfleet and Donna Turtle Sarten who collected blankets for 6 weeks and through health and social workers distributed them to those in need.

During the collection week, we will be accepting new and excellent quality pre-loved blankets, duvets, bedding, and sleeping bags.

We also accept other items of warmth, new pillows, new hot-water bottles, pajamas, beanies, socks, jumpers, winter coats, raincoats, winter bedding, duvet inners and covers, toiletries.

‘Give a Kid a Blanket’ aims for recipients to feel both warmed and valued by the community. Our focus is to celebrate the acts of kindness many are able to make and acknowledge the important work of those working with families from health and social agencies.

The Kaiārahi thank you in advance for supporting this wonderful cause.
